What is a radar detector? It is an electronic device that tips a motorist off if radar trackers, as used by law enforcement for example is anywhere nearby. The object of the exercise is therefore to miss radar traps and therefore speeding tickets.
The radar guns used by law enforcement officers is used to measure the speed of a moving vehicle or object, relative to a fixed point. There are two critical components to a radar detector, a transmitter which despatches a radar signal, and a receiver which collects returning information.
In its simplest sense, radar operates to work out the distance of one object from another. It stands to reason therefore that if the distance of a moving object from a fixed point can be recorded a couple of times, and the distance travelled by the object, the speed of that vehicle can be quickly calculated.
A radar detector can find law enforcement radar guns with a simple radio receiver. More sophisticated detectors also use a transmitter as well as a receiver, which can usually block the radio waves of the radar guns, scrambling the information that is sent back to the police radar.
Science has moved forwards in an attempt to beat the radar detectors, using laser science. Instead of using radio waves, laser guns use concentrated light beams to isolate the velocity and movement. Because light travels so much quicker, the offending car is usually detected before the detection equipment has realised the vehicle is being recorded. Not to be out done, laser detectors have been made in order to disable laser guns as well. The technique used is like that used for radio detectors.
The bottom line is that, you pay your cash and then you choose as to the best system available for the money you can pay. The more pricey systems will give you a wider range of protection, but you have to pay top dollar for the facility.
Find out the best in radar detectors and find out how to get out of a speeding ticket as well.
Some people tend to use the radar detectors in illegal ways. That's why there are people who won't buy radar detectors because of this said issue. But in reality, radar detectors are there to remind you not to over speed.
ReplyDeleteI even get one. And I think it's the one of the top radar detectors of this year.
